About Us

The League

The Cumberland Orioles are an adult amateur baseball team composed of former college and high school players in the tri-state area. The team was established in 2006 where they won the Pen-Mar league championship and a state runner up in there first year. The Pen-Mar league will be starting its 58th season of amatuer wood bat baseball.Over the years the league has had its' fair share of premier players. Many Pen-Mar Alumni as well as current players have enjoyed stellar college careers. Several have had an oppurtunity to continue the career in professional baseball some have even made it to MLB. The Pen-Mar league plays good old fashion hard ball. Much of the old barnstorming baseball tradtion can be seen in the league, as the best of the home grown talent from one area takes on the best from another. Pen-Mar baseball is a fun family atmosphere and prides its' self on quality baseball.

Players

The majority of the leagues players have played some college baseball, mostly at the DII, DIII, NAIA and JUCO level. The league boasts a good number of players from the West Virginia Conference. One thing all Pen-Mar players have in common is their love of the game. Players play hard, not for money but for each other and mostly for the joy of playing baseball.
